Meet the founder of Perception Performance Cameron Carr.
Growing up, Cameron Carr knew exactly what he wanted — to play professional footy. As the son of Queensland State of Origin representative Norm Carr, his path in rugby league was clear. But just as his professional career with the Sydney Roosters was beginning, a car accident at 19 changed everything.
The accident left Cameron a quadriplegic and brought his sporting dreams to an abrupt end. What followed was years of intense rehabilitation, deep personal reflection, and the mental health challenges that come with such a life-altering event. These formative experiences became the foundation of Cameron’s core philosophy: ARC — Adaptability, Resilience, and Clarity.
Refusing to be defined by limitation, Cameron turned adversity into ambition. He built a new legacy in Wheelchair Rugby, earning a Silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, Gold in both London 2012 and Rio 2016, and an Order of Australia Medal in 2014 for his service to sport.
But Cameron’s impact extends far beyond the field.
With over 25 years of experience across high-performance sport, leadership, and corporate experience, Cameron brings a unique perspective to organisational advisory. His lived experience, academic credentials, and professional insight allow him to guide organisations through complexity , building inclusive, high-performing systems that support people, purpose, and performance.
